St. John's IceCaps Sign Tommy Maxwell

The St. John's IceCaps announced today they have signed forward Tommy Maxwell to an AHL contract and have assigned him to their ECHL affiliate Colorado Eagles.

Maxwell played in 39 AHL games with the Manitoba Moose in the 2010-11 season totaling four goals and 60 penalty minutes. He also played for the ECHL's Victoria Salmon Kings recording no points and 25 penalty minutes in nine regular season games, as well as two points (1g, 1a) and 28 penalty minutes in 11 postseason games.

Through five professional seasons, the Spokane, WA native has played in 151 AHL games with Manitoba and Hershey, recording 21 points (7g, 14a) and 432 penalty minutes. Maxwell has also played 96 ECHL games with Phoenix, South Carolina, and Victoria where he has scored 25 points (10g, 15a) and totaled 349 penalty minutes. During the 2009-10 season with Manitoba, Maxwell finished the year eighth overall in the AHL in penalty minutes with 256 in 67 games.
