Reno Silver Sox News Release
After the Reno Silver Sox came out of the gate strong on Saturday, the St. George Roadrunners scored the next eight runs on route to a 9-4 victory at Peccole Park.
The game started off nicely for Reno as the Sox mounted a 3-0 lead, however, the Roadrunners came back and tied the game at 3, and then C Wiki Gonzalez homered to give St. George the lead. Gonzalez reached base 4 times in the game.
After St. George had scored five runs, the Roadrunners added one run each inning for the next four frames making a Sox comeback difficult.
The Sox did score once more when SS Andre Alvarado scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning.
1B Ryan Brown continued his hot hitting ways with a singe and a run scored in the first inning rally. Brown is now 7-13 with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored since Thursday.
Starting pitcher Jesse Hall pitched six innings allowing six earned runs for the Silver Sox in the loss. Billy Simon and Mitch Arnold pitched the remaining frames.
The Silver Sox return home Sunday for the finale of this three game series. Sunday is also family night where the entire family gets in for only $14. Get your tickets at silversoxbaseball.com!
