Hartford, CT - For the second straight night Richmond first baseman Frankie Tostado blasted a go-ahead two-run homer in the ninth inning leading the Flying Squirrels to a one-run victory over the Hartford Yard Goats at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The Yard Goats were down 2-0, tied the game in the seventh inning with a homer by Max George and an RBI double by Willie Abreu, and then took a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning on Elehuris Montero's run-scoring double. Yoan Aybar walked the leadoff hitter before surrendering the two-run shot to Tostado. Richmond scored all four runs on home runs, as David Villar hit a two-run shot in the seventh. Hartford starter Garrett Schilling pitched well in 5.1 innings and allowed just two runs with five strikeouts.

Hartford starter Garrett Schilling worked well over the first five innings and allowed just two hits with five strikeouts. In the sixth inning, Trumbull's Simon Whiteman cracked a one out double and David Villar followed with a two-run homer, giving Richmond a 2-0 lead.

Richmond starter Michael Plassmeyer fired six scoreless innings with six strikeouts and allowed just four hits. Sean Bouchard reached him for a double, the only extra base hit he allowed. The lefty departed in the seventh inning with a 2-0 lead.

The Yard Goats tied the game with a two-out rally. Max George smashed a solo home run to center field, Matt McLaughlin contributed with a pinch-hit single and Willie Abreu cracked a double to left center field, scoring McLaughlin to tie the game at 2-2.

The Yard Goats took a 3-2 lead with a run in the eighth inning. Coco Montes walked and went to second base on a wild pitch. Elehuris Montero ripped a double into the left field corner, scoring Montes and giving Hartford its first lead.

Yoan Aybar walked the leadoff hitter Vince Fernandez to start the ninth inning. Frankie Tostado followed with a two run homer into the right field porch seats, his five home run of the season, giving the Flying Squirrels a 4-3 lead. Jameson Hannah singled in the ninth inning but was stranded as RJ Dobovich retired the side to earn his second straight save.

The Yard Goats continue a 12-game homestand at Dunkin' Donuts Park on Sunday afternoon (1:05 PM) and play the final of a six-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
