Squirrels and B-Mets Postponed

RICHMOND, VA - Due to persistent heavy rain showers throughout the day on Tuesday that rendered the grounds of The Diamond unplayable, the Richmond Flying Squirrels scheduled game with the Binghamton Mets has been postponed. The game will made up as part of a doubleheader at The Diamond on Wednesday (6/19) night. The doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning ballgames and will begin with first pitch of game one at 5:05 p.m. Ballpark gates will open for the doubleheader on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Fans holding tickets for Tuesday's game may redeem them for tickets to any remaining 2013 Flying Squirrels regular season home game based upon availability. The postponement is the fourth of the season for Richmond in 37 scheduled dates. The team lost just one of 71 scheduled dates in both 2012 and 2010, while four games were lost in 2011.

Richmond LHP Carlos Teller (1-2, 2.20) will start game one of the doubleheader against Binghamton RHP Erik Goeddel (6-2, 4.27). Squirrels RHP Taylor Rogers (4-3, 5.90) will take the ball in game two opposed by B-Mets LHP Darin Gorski (0-0, 2.25). The Flying Squirrels Pregame Warmup will begin on Sports Radio 910, SportsRadio910.com and IHeart Radio at 1:35 p.m.
