MEXICO CITY, Mexico - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, had their three-game win streak snapped by the Mexico City Capitanes, 124-115, on Sunday night at Mexico City Arena.
After trailing by 18 in the first half, Birmingham (9-20) clawed back to within five at intermission and pulled to within four after three quarters of play.
Two-way guard Dereon Seabron led the way in the scoring column for the Squadron with 29 on 12-of-19 shooting, including 3-of-5 from trey land. Malcolm Hill tallied 22 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for his first double-double since returning to Birmingham earlier this month. As a team, Birmingham shot 52.9% from the field, including 44.4% from three.
Mexico City 's Rigoberto Mendoza paced the Capitanes with 25 off the bench, while Justin Minaya and Alfonzo McKinnie each recorded 21 points. Kenneth Faried recorded a double-double on the night with 12 points and 12 boards.
