
Mad Ants Win Third Straight, Stop Wisconsin

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Fort Wayne closed out their home schedule Sunday afternoon with a 128-114 win over Wisconsin.
The Mad Ants shot 50.5 percent from the field to Wisconsin's 47.6 percent.
Wisconsin got out to a 8-0 lead, with Fort Wayne held scoreless for the first three minutes before Justin Anderson knocked down a midrange jumper. With 45.8 seconds left, Gabe York wrapped a pass around a defender to Elfrid Payton for a three pointer that put Fort Wayne up 28-24 after one quarter.
Fort Wayne would push their lead to 11 with 9:51 left in the second on an Anderson three, the first double digit lead for either team in the game. Deividas Sirvydis would answer with a three of his own on the other end for Wisconsin, which was then itself matched by a Payton three pointer. At the halftime break, Anderson's 13 points led Fort Wayne to a 62-49 lead. Paris Bass led Wisconsin at halftime with 18 points.
Fort Wayne built their lead back up in the third, but a Sirvydis three with 4:07 left in the third narrowed the gap to single digits again at 81-72. Fort Wayne battled back with a run, capped by a Tevin Brown fast break layup with 1:30 left in the third as the Mad Ants pushed their lead back up to 93-76. After three quarters, Fort Wayne led the Herd 96-84.
A 7-2 start to the fourth quarter for Wisconsin, punctuated by a Brandon Sampson fast break dunk, cut the Fort Wayne lead down to seven at 98-91. The Mad Ants would go back up by double digits with 8:11 left on a three from York, 106-95. Back to back Anderson dunks with 6:16 left pushed the Fort Wayne lead to 112-97.
Anderson led Fort Wayne with 31 points, followed by 27 out of Trevelin Queen. Jermaine Samuels Jr. posted a 14 point, 13 rebound double double, moving him to 13th all-time in Mad Ant double doubles.
Paris Bass led the Herd with 26, with five other Wisconsin players scoring in double figures. Sirvydis added 22 points for the Herd.
