AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs (3-6) claimed victory over the Ontario Clippers (6-5), 108-100 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Friday night.
Dominick Barlow led five Spurs in double figures, posting a season-high 23 points and 12 rebounds in 35 minutes of play. Two other Spurs also scored a season high with Jalen Adaway as he notched 16 points and Jordan Murphy with 12 points. Blake Wesley added 15 points and 6 rebounds.
The Clippers and the Spurs were neck-and-neck in the first quarter with seven lead changes with the first frame ending in 27 all. The intensity continued into the next frame as the game tied for the 10th time, 53 all, with 2:42 remaining. In the last three seconds of the first half, Alize Johnson made a layup to push the Spurs ahead four points, 57-53. Ontario stepped up in the third quarter as guard Xavier Moon scored nine of his 22 points in the frame as they outscored Austin, 31-22. The Spurs went on a 16-4 run with 4:01 remaining in the fourth that helped Austin gain the win.
Brandon Boston Jr. recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds while Moses Brown cliched a double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds. Keaton Wallace added 14 points for the Clippers.
