Georgia Swarm News Release
(DULUTH, Ga.) - Georgia Swarm forward Jordan Hall was featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays this Sunday night after his astonishing no-look, between-his-legs goal against the Buffalo Bandits at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Field at Infinite Energy Arena on March 18. The Swarm would go on to win 14-10, and SportsCenter ranked the goal as the No. 5 play of the night.
Seven minutes into the fourth quarter, Swarm assistant captain Shayne Jackson fed the ball to Hall. Hall had to turn around to catch it, and Bandits transition player Thomas Hoggarth pressed into Hall's back, trying to force the veteran forward from making a shot. It did not work as Hall shoveled the ball through his and Hoggarth's legs and it kissed off the pipe past Bandits goaltender Zach Higgins' left arm for Georgia's 12th goal of the night.
"I wasn't expecting off the pipe and in," Hall said about his shot. "I looked over and Shayne went nuts, and so I knew it went in. I looked and saw it was behind the goalie. I was pretty excited."
The shot was not something Hall practiced, noting he had only tried it maybe twice in his life in pickup games. But the impact of having his goal be a highlight on SportsCenter Top 10 was not lost upon the veteran.
"It's pretty cool saying, `Yeah, I've had a highlight on SportsCenter,'" Hall said.
Hall becomes the second Swarm player to make SportsCenter Top 10 Plays this season. Rookie Zed Williams earned his way on with an up close behind-the-back goal against the Saskatchewan Rush on Jan. 6.
Georgia continues its three-game homestand with a divisional bout against the New England Black Wolves (6-5) on Saturday, March 24. The Swarm will be hosting Native American Heritage Night presented by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
Swarm players will be wearing custom uniforms honoring the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on their favorite players' game-worn and autographed jerseys during the game on Native American Heritage Night and online.
The first 2,000 fans will receive a Miles Thompson Bobblehead. Fans can purchase tickets at GeorgiaSwarm.com/Heritage or by calling 844-4-GASWARM.
