Sporting Kansas City News Release
After a 3-0 win over Minnesota on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park, Sporting Kansas City returns to the road this week for two highly-anticipated away matches. Sporting Kansas City will first travel to the West Coast to face reigning MLS Cup champions LAFC at 9:39 p.m. CT on Wednesday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles before flying straight to St. Louis for the first-ever match-up with arch rivals St. Louis CITY SC at 8:55 p.m. CT on Saturday at CITYPARK.
Both Western Conference clashes will be streamed live on Apple TV with the mid-week match exclusively available to MLS Season Pass subscribers and Saturday's cross-state showdown available free for all fans along with national television broadcasts on FS1 and FOX Deportes. Local radio coverage for both matches will also air on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM with streams available in the Sporting KC App.
In addition, Chicken N Pickle (5901 W. 135th St.) in Overland Park, Kansas will host Sporting Kansas City's official watch party for STLvSKC on Saturday. Chicken N Pickle is part of the Sporting Pub Network with pub partners throughout the region showing every Sporting Kansas City match during the 2023 Major League Soccer season.
Sporting KC is providing 500 supporters with free tickets for Saturday's match in St. Louis and together with club partner SeatGeek has provided 100 fans with free round-trip Amtrak® train tickets. This Friday, these fans will receive a specialized sendoff and depart Union Station in Kansas City at 8:40 a.m. CT on the Amtrak Missouri River Runner® train. Each fan on the train will receive a Sporting KC rally towel and other promotional items.
Sporting Kansas City will host the first-ever Sporting KC 5v5 Fest, benefitting The Victory Project, on May 27 at Central Bank Sporting Complex. The one-day tournament is open to recreational players in first and second grade, and competitive players at the U8-U13 levels, with the deadline to register extended until today.

On Wednesday, the Official Brand for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be unveiled to fans around the world with FIFA celebrating a major milestone on the road to the biggest sporting event ever. The unveiling will take place at 9:30 p.m. CT in Los Angeles as a star-studded show with special guest performances live-streamed on FIFA+. The Official Brand will be accompanied by 16 bespoke Host City brands developed by FIFA and the public in all 16 Host Cities will be treated to a range of activations on Thursday, when the artworks will be presented by the hosts.
Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members, as well as members of Sporting Kansas City supporters groups, are eligible to receive complimentary tickets for Sporting away matches . Requests close two weeks before each away match or once the allotment of away supporters tickets is reached. Requests will close this Friday for VANvSKC on June 3 and requests remain open for LAvSKC on June 21.
The Sporting KC Academy will wrap up their participation in MLS NEXT Flex on Tuesday with matches at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Maryland. MLS NEXT Flex features 64 of the best MLS NEXT clubs in the U15, U16, U17 and U19 age groups battling for positioning in the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs. The Sporting KC U-15s take on Wake FC at 7:30 a.m. CT before the Sporting KC U-17s play Total Futbol Academy at 9:45 a.m. CT.
The Sporting KC Academy will resume the MLS NEXT campaign with a doubleheader against FC Dallas on Sunday at Swope Soccer Village as the U-14s and U-17s kick off at 9 a.m. CT, followed by the U-19s match at 11 a.m. CT. Fans can follow @SKCAcademy on Twitter for updates throughout the season.
After a 2-1 road win against LA Galaxy II, Sporting KC II will continue the MLS NEXT Pro campaign at 5 p.m. CT on Sunday against St. Louis CITY2 at CITYPARK in St. Louis. The match will stream live on Apple TV for MLS Season Pass subscribers and fans can follow @SportingKCII on Twitter for updates throughout the season.
