SPORTING KC TO HOST HOUSTON DYNAMO ON SUNDAY
Sporting Kansas City will host the Houston Dynamo at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, May 26 at Sporting Park. Tickets are available in limited supply online through Ticketmaster.com and at the Sporting Park Box Offices.
The match will be broadcast nationally on the NBC Sports Network. It will also be available over the airwaves on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Gran D 1340 AM.
SPORTING KC TO HOST U.S. OPEN CUP FOURTH ROUND IF THEY ADVANCE
U.S. Soccer revealed the potential pairings and match locations on Wednesday for all fourth round scenarios in the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. If Sporting Kansas City advances past the Des Moines Menace (PDL) on Tuesday in the U.S. Open Cup third round, then Sporting KC will host the winner between the Colorado Rapids (MLS) and Orlando City SC (USL PRO) at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, June 12 at Sporting Park.
Tickets for the fourth round match, if necessary, will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CT on Wednesday, May 29 and will be available to purchase online at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sporting Park Box Offices. Sporting Kansas City full Season Ticket Members have tickets to all U.S. Open Cup home matches through the quarterfinals as part of their 2013 season ticket package.
JIMMY NIELSEN TO HOST BOOK LAUNCH ON SUNDAY
Sporting Kansas City captain Jimmy Nielsen will be hosting a book signing for his new book, Welcome to the Blue Heaven: Don't Bet Against the Goalkeeper, on Sunday at Sporting Park following Sporting KC's match versus the Houston Dynamo at 2:30 p.m. CT.
The signing will be held in the Shield Club approximately 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the match and books will be available for purchase, priced at $24.95 each. Fans may purchase as many books as they would like, however, individuals will only be permitted to have one book signed by Nielsen at the signing.
SPORTING KC TO HOST DES MOINES MENACE IN OPEN CUP PLAY ON 5/28
Sporting Kansas City will host the Des Moines Menace at 7:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, May 28 at Sporting Park in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup third round. Des Moines advanced to the third round with a 1-0 win over Minnesota United FC (NASL) at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in St. Paul, Minn. on Tuesday.
Tickets for the third round match at Sporting Park are available online at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sporting Park Box Offices. All Sporting Kansas City full Season Ticket Members have a ticket to the third round match, and all subsequent U.S. Open Cup home matches through the quarterfinals, as part of their season ticket package.
RALLY HOUSE ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH SPORTING KANSAS CITY
Rally House announced that they have signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Sporting Kansas City. The three-year agreement includes an annual, co-promoted fan sweepstakes in addition to ticket giveaways to Sporting KC games and player appearances at Rally House locations in the Kansas City metro area.
SEVEN SPORTING KC PLAYERS SELECTED TO INTERNATIONAL DUTY
Sporting Kansas City defender Matt Besler and midfielder Graham Zusi were named to the U.S. Men's National Team roster ahead of two international friendlies and three FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, U.S. Soccer announced. Both players will join the U.S. Men's National Team in Cleveland following Sporting Kansas City's match against the Houston Dynamo on May 26.
Forwards Kei Kamara and Soony Saad were selected by their respective National Teams for upcoming international matches. Kamara will join Sierra Leone from June 2-17 for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers versus Tunisia and Cape Verde Islands, while Saad will join the Lebanon Men's National Team for the first time from May 25-31 for an international friendly against Oman.
Midfielder Mikey Lopez was named to the United States Under-20 Men's National Team for the 2013 Toulon Tournament from May 28-June 8 in France.
Defender Mechack Jerome and midfielder Peterson Joseph have been selected to the Haiti Men's National Team. Haiti will play a pair of international friendlies against the last two FIFA World Cup champions with matches against Spain on June 8 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. and against Italy on June 12 at Estadio do Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
SPORTING KC DRAWS 1-1 WITH D.C. UNITED ON THE ROAD
Sporting Kansas City drew 1-1 with D.C. United on Sunday afternoon at RFK Stadium. Sporting KC took the lead through an Ethan White own goal in the 60th minute but D.C. United responded with an equalizer from Kyle Porter five minutes later to split the points.
BOBBY CONVEY TRADED TO TORONTO FC
Sporting Kansas City traded forward Bobby Convey to Toronto FC last week in exchange for Toronto FC's natural third round pick in next year's MLS SuperDraft.
Convey, 29, appeared in 20 MLS matches (including playoffs) with Sporting Kansas City, recording one goal and two assists since being acquired from the San Jose Earthquakes in December 2011. In 10 MLS seasons, Convey has made 189 career appearances (including playoffs) with 14 goals and 33 assists.
OFFICIAL LOGO UNVEILED FOR 2013 AT&T MLS ALL-STAR GAME
The 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Game logo was unveiled at Sporting Park during halftime of Sporting Kansas City's nationally televised match against Chivas USA.
In conjunction with the logo's launch, the first edition of 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Game merchandise was made available to purchase in-stadium at Sporting Park. The gear can also be purchased online at shop.sportingkc.com.
The annual showcase event will feature three days of festivities, culminating in a match between the League's top players and a renowned international club on Wednesday, July 31 at Sporting Park, home of Sporting Kansas City.The 2013 MLS All-Star Game will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. CT on the ESPN, Univision, TSN and RDS family of networks. Exact networks will be announced at a later date.
Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes, a finalist for MLS Coach of the Year each of the last two seasons, will coach the 2013 MLS All-Stars.
SINGLE-DAY TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR FLATLANDS FESTIVAL
Single-day tickets for the Flatlands Country Music Festival at Sporting Park from Sept. 12-14 are on sale to the general public, starting as low as $59 each. The new country music and camping festival, presented by Marquee Events and Sporting Club, will feature performances from several of the most popular artists in country music over three days.
Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Rodney Atkins, Thompson Square and Kevin Fowler will perform on Friday, Sept. 13. Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler, Love and Theft, and JT Hodges will then take the stage on Sat., Sept. 14.

SPORTING KC SEASON TICKETS SOLD OUT FOR 2013 SEASON
Sporting Kansas City announced that the club's allotment of 14,000 season tickets for the 2013 season at Sporting Park are sold out. Prospective Season Ticket Members may join the club's Season Ticket Member waiting list by placing a $50 non-refundable deposit per season ticket request.
Sporting Kansas City currently leads all MLS teams in the total number of new Season Ticket Members for 2013 and have averaged over a 90% Season Ticket Member renewal rate for the last three seasons.
Sporting Kansas City have also begun sales for new five-game 'Pick Plans.' All plans include the team's match on July 3 against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as four additional Sporting KC matches of the buyer's choice, including U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League or any of the remaining MLS regular season games.
SPORTING PARK TO HOST U.S. MNT IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIER
Sporting Park will host the U.S. Men's National Team on Oct. 11 in the team's final home qualifying match for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The United States returns to Sporting Park to play Jamaica, live on the ESPN family, WatchESPN and UniMas. Kickoff time and ticket information will be released at a later date.
Sporting Park, home to Major League Soccer's Sporting Kansas City, will host the U.S. Men's National Team for the third time since opening in June 2011. The state-of-the-art, $200+ million venue will also host the 2013 MLS All-Star Game on July 31.
SPORTING CLUB LAUNCHES THE VICTORY PROJECT
Sporting Club recently announced the launch of The Victory Project, a new community-driven foundation that will meaningfully and tangibly impact children with cancer in the Kansas City region. A key component of The Victory Project is to raise funds to address specific needs of individual children undergoing cancer treatment, where those needs are not supported by insurance. Donors will have the unique opportunity to know exactly how their funds are being used, and for whom. All funds raised will go directly to helping these children, who are here in Kansas City.
In addition to raising money, the organization hopes to provide encouragement to children in their daily battles with cancer. At each Sporting Kansas City home match, Sporting Club welcomes a special guest affected by cancer, and their family, to the Victory Suite at Sporting Park and recognizes the individual in a special pre-match ceremony.
