Spokane holds four game lead in Northwest League East

SPOKANE, WA - The Spokane Indians were edged by the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 1-0 Thursday night in the series finale at Avista Stadium. The Indians won three out of the five games in the series, and have yet to lose a series all season long. Spokane holds a four game lead over Boise in the Northwest League East.

The game went scoreless until the top of the 10th inning, where Salem-Keizer$B!G(Js Ryan Lormand hit a double into left field to score Skyler Stromsmoe. The Indians failed to score the tying run in their frame of the 10th inning. Spokane had only three hits on the night, coming from Joey Butler, Mark Bianucci and Dennis Guinn.

Indians starter Martin Perez had an excellent outing, going five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five batters. Juan Peralta pitched the 10th inning and picked up the loss, his first of the season.
