Spokane Chiefs Partner with the Coeur d'Alene Casino to Support the Tribal STOP Violence against Women Program

Coeur d'Alene Casino partnered with Chiefs' goaltenders to raise funds and awareness for the STOP Violence Against Women Program which provides services for those living within the service area of the Coeur d'Alene Reservation who are currently or have been victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, and/or stalking.

"The Coeur d'Alene Tribe's STOP Violence Program has received donations from the Spokane Chiefs for three years and we are forever grateful. Through these donations we are able to assist victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and assist their children who witness the violence by providing services such as emergency shelter, food assistance, and emergency clothing," STOP Program Spokesperson Bernie LaSarte said. "The Spokane Chiefs donation also makes it possible for advocates to provide awareness activities for the community supporting victim safety. We are very thankful for the support of the Spokane Chiefs organization and their impact in our community."

For each save a Chiefs' goalie made throughout the 2021-2022 season, $1 was donated to this cause resulting in a total donation of $2,068, hand delivered by our own Boomer the Bear. Mason Beaupit, Chiefs' goalie and 2022 NHL 4th Round Pick of the San Jose Sharks, racked up nearly 70% of these saves with 1,408. Rookie netminders Manny Panghli and Cooper Michaluk made 575 and 144 saves respectively, and Campbell Arnold stopped 45 shots before he was traded to Victoria.

"The entire Spokane Chiefs organization is proud to continue supporting and bringing awareness to the STOP Violence Program," Chiefs' Vice President Jay Stewart stated. "We encourage all of our fans to stand up against all forms of domestic violence and abuse."
