Windsor Spitfires News Release
The Spitfires scored three goals in a 5:14 span of the third period, erasing a two-goal deficit in a comeback, 5-4 win over the Sarnia Sting in front of 6,383 at the WFCU Centre on Sunday afternoon.
The win moved Windsor (19-19-1-6) within two points of Saginaw for eighth place in the Western Conference.
The line of Kerby Rychel, Alexander Khokhlachev and Alex Aleardi combined for seven points and Jaroslav Pavelka was outstanding in goal, making 33 saves as the Spitfires won their fourth straight game.
Trailing 4-2, Khokhlachev scored his fifth goal in six games at 2:55 of the third period to cut the lead to one.
Then, Josh Ho-Sang sent the crowd into a frenzy, burying a Brady Vail cross-ice pass at 7:33 to tie the game.
Remy Giftopoulos capped the comeback just 36 seconds later, scoring his second goal in as many games to give the Spits a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
