
Spits Fall 6-3 against London

Windsor Spitfires News Release
The Spitfires traveled down Highway 401 for a matchup with rival London Knights. The teams were only separated by 3 points heading into tonight's game. The Spitfires lead the league in powerplay percentage while the Knights are a close second. The Knights lead the league in PK percentage.
In the first period, the tempo of the game was sky high with chances at both ends. It was London who struck first late into the first taking that lead into the intermission. London led in shots 12-6 after the first.
In the second frame, London tacked on an additional two goals giving them a 3-0 lead after two periods. The Knights led in shots after two periods, 27-14.
In the third period, the Spitfires struck early courtesy of D'Amico, who buried a rebound from a Corcoran point-shot. This cut the lead to just two goals. But London fired back with three more goals to put them up 6-1. With just under 4 minutes left, Corcoran scored on a sweet feed from Henault, cutting the London lead to 4. Only 40 seconds later, Playfair scored his first of the season, cutting the lead to 3. But the comeback ended as the Spitfires ran out of time. The final score: 6-3.
The Spitfires' next game is Saturday, November 30th versus the Niagara Ice Dogs. Puck drop 7:05 pm.
