(Windsor, ON) - The Spitfires have acquired Connor Chatham from the Flint Firebirds in exchange for Luke Kirwan, General Manager Warren Rychel announced Sunday.

Windsor also gets Niagara's 2nd round pick and Flint's 4th round selection - both in 2017.

"I think it's a good trade for both sides," Rychel said. "Luke was down in our lineup a little bit, but still has a lot of potential. On a rebuilding team, he'll get a chance to play on the top two lines and make an impact. Connor is a big, NHL drafted winger that has a lot to play for. We've seen a lot of him over the last three years. He'll come in and contribute in all areas."

A native of Shiloh, Illinois, Chatham, 20, was a 3rd round pick (#71) of the New Jersey

Devils in the 2014 NHL Draft. He's played 136 games for the Plymouth Whalers / Flint Firebirds organization - logging 41 goals and 56 assists along with 140 penalty minutes.

Connor is expected to arrive in Windsor later today and will be made available to media during regular availability (12:45-1:30) on Tuesday at the WFCU Centre.
