Spitfires Win Game Seven 4-0 and Advance to OHL Championship

WINDSOR, ON. - The Spitfires came away victorious as they dominated the series clinching game with an emphatic 4-0 win on home ice. The crowd of over 6300 was loud all night and repped the Spitfires proud.

In the first period, the Spitfires got off to a great start, they fired everything at the net and used the energetic crowd to pump them up. Just under 8 minutes in, the Spitfires D'Amico broke the deadlock. He got the puck in the high slot from Maillet and ripped it past Cavallin for the lead. Just 6 minutes later, it was D'Amico again, scoring his 2nd of the night and giving the Spitfires a 2-0 cushion. Shots were tied 14-14 after 20 minutes.

In the second period, the Spitfires would extend their lead to 3-0 on a sweet passing play. Abraham came in over the line and went wide on the defender, he centre it to Peer but his shot was fanned on as he was check and the puck slid right to Christopoulos who buried his 8th of the postseason.

In the third period, the Spitfires would add an empty netter from Daniel D'Amico to seal the deal and record a hat-trick. The Spitfires would hold on to the 4-0 win and sent the WFCU Centre crowd home ecstatic.

The Spitfires have made it to the OHL Championship and will face-off against the Hamilton Bulldogs for the Cup. The series starts on Friday June 3rd and puck drop is scheduled for 7pm.
