Windsor Spitfires News Release

WINDSOR, ON. - The Windsor Spitfires are excited to announce we have signed undrafted free agent Kyler Morgan to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 2005 born forward from Kitchener, Ontario had a great training camp and impressed the staff.

Morgan played for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers U18 team during the 2021-2022 season recording 13 points in 32 games played. During the 2022-2023 season Morgan continued with the Rangers U18AAA team and appeared in 35 games while recording 43 points (20 goals, 23 assists). Kyler also appeared in 4 games for the K-W Siskins and recorded 2 goals and 5 assists.

The Kitchener native is excited to be joining the club.

"It is pretty sweet." Morgan said. "It is a great organization with great people, were treated like we're in the NHL. It's a dream come true."

Morgan made it to the annual Blue and White game and recorded a couple points and said training camp definitely helped him get to this point.

"I felt good in camp and performed well, and it was a comfortable environment and I was able to play my own style." Morgan said. "Going into camp as an undrafted free agent meant I had to prove myself and I was able to do that and I showed the staff what I could do."

Bill Bowler spoke on Morgan putting pen to paper.

"We tracked Kyler at the end of last season and his play warranted a tryout this season." GM Bill Bowler said. "During training camp and his first exhibition games he earned a contract with our team. We look forward to his seeing him progress."

Welcome to Windsor, Kyler!
