The Windsor Spitfires (10-11-2-2) travel to Plymouth to battle the Whalers (8-9-4-2) on Wednesday November 24, 2004.

This will be the third of eight meetings this season between the Spitfires and the Whalers. The Spitfires have beaten the Whalers both times this season. On October 3, 2004 the Spitfires beat the Whalers 2-1 at the Windsor Arena. The Spitfires beat the Spirit 3-2 on November 14, 2004 at the Windsor Arena. After Wednesday's game the Spitfires and the Whalers meet again on Thursday January 13, 2005 in Windsor.

After losing the first three games of a very important four games in one week stretch against teams in the West Division the Spitfires need a win over the Plymouth Whalers. The Soo greyhounds beat the Spits on Thursday November 18, the Sarnia Sting beat the Spits on Friday November 19 and the Saginaw Spirit beat the Spits on Saturday November 20.

Currently, the Spitfires are in 1st place in the West Division with 24 points. The Whalers are in 2nd place in the West Division with 22 points. The rest of the West Division looks like this. The Soo Greyhounds are in 3rd place with 21 points. The Sarnia Sting are in 4th place with 18 points while the Saginaw Spirit are in last place with 16 points.

In their most recent games, the Spitfires lost to the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday November 20, 2004 by the score of 4-3 in overtime in Saginaw. The Whalers are coming off a 3-1 win over the Soo Greyhounds on Saturday November 20, 2004 in Plymouth. The Spitfires have won 4 of their last 10 games while the Whalers have 3 wins and 3 ties in their last 10 games.

Windsor's offensive attack has been led this season by forwards David Lomas (15 goals, 15 assists), Cal O'Reilly (10 goals, 20 assists), John Scott Dickson (13 goals, 16 assists), Ryan Garlock (12 goals, 11 assists), Tom Mannino (10 goals and 13 assists) and Steve Downie (5 goals, 17 assists). Paul Giallonardo is the top scoring defenseman with 9 assists. Andy Self is the top scoring rookie with 2 goals and 1 assist.

Plymouth's leading scorers so far this season are Dan Collins (9 goal, 6 assists), Mike Knight (3 goals, 11 assists), James Neal (6 goals, 7 assists), John Vigilante (5 goals, 8 assists), John Mitchell (4 goals, 8 assists), Jonas Fiedler (5 goals, 6 assists), Andrew Fournier (4 goals, 7 assists) and Mike Letizia (3 goals, 8 assists).

Injuries: Forward Brett Liscomb (foot) will be unavailable for the game.

Wednesday's game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth Michigan.

The Spitfires next home game is Friday November 26, 2004 when the Spits host the Peterborough Petes. Game time is 7:30 pm.
