Spit Tobacco Program Goes on the Road

The Lexington Legends and the Kentucky Center for Oral& Maxillofacial Surgery (KCOMS) will present a spit tobacco education program to students at Beaumont Middle School on Tuesday May 20 at 3:00pm. Since their inception, the Legends have teamed with KCOMS to spread the message that "Smokeless does not mean harmless".

Tuesday will mark the first time the show has gone on the road and Legends Mascot "Big L", Legend's President Alan Stein and Brent W. Mortenson, D.M.D of KCOMS will appear. The message will be to teach kids about the health risks in using smokeless tobacco.

The program conducted at Applebee's Park includes a video, a speech by an oral surgeon, and a Legends player speaking giving testimonials that you don't have to use tobacco to be a baseball player.
