Spirit Win in London 5-2

On Monday night the Saginaw Spirit traveled to the John Labatt Center and defeated the London Knights by the score of 5-2 in game three of their best of seven playoff series. Scoring for the Spirit were Carlos Amestoy, Garret Ross, and Michael Fine. Jake Paterson made 42 saves in net for the Spirit and received the first star of the game.

London got the scoring started just 2:50 into the first period when Matt Rupert scored his second goal of the playoffs. Saginaw would answer at 9:32 just five seconds into a power play with a goal off the stick of Carlos Amestoy. Dalton Young and Eric Locke assisted Amestoy's goal. London would head to the first intermission with an 18 to 8 advantage in shots.

Jared Knight cracked the score sheet for London at 9:34 when he would score his second of the playoffs on a breakaway. Saginaw's Garret Ross would answer back less than a minute later when he slid a shot between the legs of Michael Houser to re-tie the game at 2-2. Six minutes later, Saginaw took their first lead of the night when Michael Fine scored to give the Spirit the 3-2 lead.

Fine would score again at the 7:56 mark of the third and then again at 11:31 to complete his natural hat trick and lead the Saginaw Spirit to victory over the London Knights.
