Colts Complete OHL Priority Selection

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce that they have completed the 2012 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, presented by State Farm.

The 15 round draft took place on Saturday and the Colts selected a total of 16 players, including two forwards that played minor midget in Barrie.

The Colts made forward Brendan Perlini their first round pick, 16th overall. Perlini put up 44 points in 40 games last season with Detroit Belle Tire Under-16's.

Barrie drafted a total of nine forwards, five defencemen and two goalies.

CJ Garcia was the first defenceman taken in the third round with the 48th overall pick. Garcia spent last season with the Don Mills Flyers.

The Colts used their 69th overall pick to select forward Brendan Lemieux, the son of former NHL player Claude Lemieux.

In the 8th round the Colts selected forward Cray Roberge who put up 20 points in 29 games played with the Barrie Colts minor midgets.

With their last pick the Colts selected Ben Skuce, who also played his minor midget here in Barrie.
