Spirit stop Otter's win streak

The Saginaw Spirit used a three-goal third period to our distance the Erie Otters 5-2 in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 4,301 at the Tullio Arena. Daniel Pachis, Jack Combs and Jordan Szwarz scored the third period goals to lift the Spirit to a victory. Saginaw improved to 30-18-0-3 with the win and seven points ahead of the Otters in the Western Conference standings. Chris Chappell and Tyler Murovich scored the other Saginaw goals. Zack Torquato and Luke Gazdic replied for the Otters, who saw a four-game winning streak end. Erie is now 27-24-2-0 on the season. Erie led 1-0 after one. The two teams were tied at two after two. The Otters out shot the Spirit 33-30 as Jaroslav Janus took the loss. The three stars of the game were 1. Combs; 2. Saginaw goalie Edward Pasquale and 3. Gazdic.
