
Spirit Nominated for Economic Development Impact Award

Lynn, MA - Steven Walsh from the Massachusetts House of Representatives has nominated the North Shore Spirit for the 2004 Team Massachusetts Economic Development Impact Award. The Spirit were selected as a nominee based on the creation of jobs, increased revenue to the city of Lynn, and unwavering community involvement.
The awards will be presented at a luncheon on November 23 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, where the final five organizations from each of the geographic regions of Massachusetts will be honored. Lawrence Fish, CEO of Citizens Financial Group will be the keynote speaker.
"We at the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development feel it is important to recognize the tireless work that businesses and organizations undertake to keep the Massachusetts economy strong," said Executive Director Susan Houston.
North Shore Spirit owner Nick Lopardo says of the nomination, "It is an honor to be recognized for making an economic impact in the city of Lynn. Our entire organization prides itself on community involvement and we thank Steven Walsh for recommending our nomination."
The Spirit return home on Friday, July 16 for a three-game series against the Aces. Friday is Turn Back the Clock Night where the Spirit will celebrate the history of baseball on the North Shore throughout the last century. Each inning the Spirit will recognize a different decade of baseball from the Lynn Frasers of the early 1900's to today's Spirit.
