
Spirit Fall to Bangor in Game 3

Lynn, MA âThe North Shore Spirit's four game winning streak came to an end Sunday afternoon as they dropped an 11-3 decision to the Bangor Lumberjacks at the New Fraser Field.
Bangor jumped on Spirit starter John Kelly early, scoring three runs in the first and single runs in the second, third and fourth. Lumberjack leftfielder Derry Hammond homered and drove in two as Bangor was able to salvage the final game of this three game set. Shin Uchino had two hits and scored four runs. Mark Burke had a pair of doubles and Jake Whiteside chipped in with 3 RBI's.
For the Spirit, Nilson Teilon hit his first homerun of the season. Onix Mercado and Joe Hastings each picked up RBI singles and Rob Fischer extended his league best hitting streak to 14-games. North Shore first baseman Vic Davilla had two hits and in the process reached base for the 16th consecutive game.
John Kelly got the loss for the Spirit and Lance Clamus picked up the win for Bangor. The total attendance for the six-game homestand was 14,971. The Spirit head to Brockton on Monday for a four game series and return home on Friday, June 18 to face the Elmira Pioneers.
June 18 is Fan Frenzy Night at Fraser Field. Fan Frenzy'04 is a night that will be unparalleled to any other night at a minor league ballpark in Massachusetts in 2004. Fan Frenzy Kicks off as the first 500 fans will receive a limited edition, World Famous Monkey Boy Bobblehead Doll. Also, fans arriving early to Fraser Field will have an opportunity to go on the field to get an autograph, or have their picture taken with the Spirit players and coaches.
During the Game Fans will be entertained by One of Minor League Baseball's most adored entertainment act, Myron Noodleman, the world's funniest nerd. One lucky fan will also have the opportunity to win an Acura, courtesy of Acura of Peabody. After the game, fans will be treated to a post-game fireworks display sponsored by The Daily Item
June 18 is also Revere Community Night and another one of Slugger's Reading Program Nights presented by KeySpan. Students from the Sacred Heart School in Lynn who have completed Slugger's Reading Program will participate in a pre-game parade to congratulate them on their accomplishments
