Pioneers Downed By Caps
June 13, 2004 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Elmira Pioneers News Release
For the second game in a row, the Pioneers staged a late-inning comeback to upend the Capitales. The loss spoiled an excellent outing from Quebec starter Jess Turner, who allowed one run on four hits in seven innings of work. Down 2-1 going into the ninth inning, a SS Cleatus Davidson two-out double drove in the tying run, and in the tenth, CF Jason Bryan's single drove in pinch-runner Joe Van Gorder for the winning run. The teams had their chances throughout the game, as both left eleven runners on base.
