
Spirit drop Generals 5-1

Saginaw Spirit News Release
The Saginaw Spirit started their two-game weekend with a win, beating the Oshawa Generals 5-2 Saturday night at the Dow Event Center. Spirit goalie Edward Pasquale finished the game with 47 saves and two assists. Center Tyler Murovich contributed one goal and two assists in the effort.
The Spirit came out strong in the first period, scoring their first goal at 6:23 into the first period. Winger Chris Chappell received an assist from goalie Edward Pasquale before knocking in a power play goal, putting the Spirit ahead 1-0. Following suit, Generals center Brett Parnham found the net, scoring a power play goal at 8:47. Defensemen Calvin de Haan and Michael Del Zotto were credited with the assists. Spirit winger Jakub Svoboda answered back, scoring at 10:06 with assists coming from centers Barry Sanderson and Kyle Bochek. The score at the end of the first period finished with the Spirit ahead, 2-1. The Spirit kept their lead and the score remained untouched during the second period.
Spirit defenseman Adam Comrie (NHL FLORIDA PANTHERS) received an assist from center Tyler Murovich, tallying a goal at 8:37 in the third period. Murovich had a hand in the next play of the game as well, scoring for the Spirit at 13:10. He was assisted by wingers Chris Chappell and Joe Pleckaitis. To cap off the win for the Spirit, Murovich and Pasquale fed the puck to Bochek, who then notched the final goal at 18:08 in the third period. The Spirit finished the game ahead, 5-1.
Spirit goaltender Edward Pasquale finished the game with 47 saves and Generals goalie Kevin Bailie earned 25 saves for the Generals.
