Spirit Defeat Otters 7-1

This afternoon the Saginaw Spirit took the ice against the Erie Otters at The Dow Event Center. The Spirit fresh off a win last night over Belleville Bulls, defeated the Erie Otters by the score of 7-1.

Saginaw got the scoring started early in the first period with a wraparound goal by Anthony Camara, assisted by Jacob Ringuette at 2:29. Spirit would hold this 1-0 lead for the remainder of the period.

Early in the 2nd, Josh Shalla scored with an assist from John McFarland. The score would remain 2-0 until late in the period when Terry Trafford scored on a quick shot, unassisted. The Otters answered back immediately after with a goal scored by Connor Brown to make the score 3-1, which is how it would stay heading into the second intermission.

Just one minute into the third, Garret Ross scored his first goal of the night. Assists were provided by Brandon Saad and Vince Trocheck. The scoring frenzy continued with a goal by Ryan O'Connor, assisted by Garret Ross. Then, Josh Shalla scored his second goal of the game thanks to an assist from Dalton Young and Brandon Archibald. John McFarland continued the scoring onslaught, putting one in the top corner of the net, extending the lead to 7-1 as the Saginaw Spirit defeated the Erie Otters.
