Spirit Deal D-Man Fletcher to Mississauga

(Saginaw, MI) Spirit defenseman Scott Fletcher and a 7th round pick in 2007 have been traded to the Mississauga Ice Dogs for a 4th round pick in 2008 and a 6th round pick in 2007.

Fletcher was drafted by the Spirit in the 2nd round (22nd overall) of the 2004 OHL Priority Selection. The Haslett, Michigan native played 118 games with the Spirit, notching 1 goal, 3 assists and 294 penalty minutes. He went to the NHL Anaheim Ducks work out camp last summer.

Fletcher spent the first half of the 2006-07 season with the USHL's Tri-City Storm. He notched 2 goals, 2 assists and 56 PIM in 14 games with the Storm.

Fletcher will join former Spirit defenseman Matt Corrente (2004-07) and former Spirit forward Jean-Michel Rizk (2002-05) in Mississauga.
