Lynn, MA – The North Shore Spirit came back from five runs down to top Les Capitales de Quebec 6-5 Wednesday night, in game one of their North Division playoff series.

Spirit ace Bryan Morse (1-0) pitched brilliantly for eight innings. Morse allowed only two earned runs on seven hits, while striking out eleven. Ryan Bicondoa pitched a perfect ninth to pick up the save. Keith Dunn (0-1) suffered the loss for Quebec. Dunn gave up 6 runs over 5 2/3 innings.

North Shore opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. With two outs, Vic Davilla singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch by Dunn. Rob Fischer followed with a line-drive basehit back up the box, scoring Davilla and giving the Spirit the early lead.

Quebec would answer with single runs in the second and third. Geofrey Tomlinson's bases-loaded RBI single scored Lee Delfino with the go-ahead run.

In the fourth, Quebec capitalized on shaky Spirit defense to extend their lead. Errors by Morse and second baseman Mike Granger opened the door to three unearned runs.

North Shore fought back with the help of the long ball. Yuri Sanchez launched a solo shot to right in the fifth and Travis Oglesby crushed an opposite field two-run homer in the sixth. Still trailing 5-4, the Spirit put runners on second and third with two outs. Nelson Teilon then slammed a Shane Waroff offering into centerfield, scoring two and giving North Shore a 6-5 lead.

Tickets for tomorrow's playoff game are still on sale. Tickets can be purchased at the Spirit Box Office located at 365 Western Ave in Lynn or by calling 781-592-0007.

Klae Calvert (3-2, 3.81) takes the mound for the Spirit on Thursday and will face Quebec's Paul Jacinto (7-0, 0.90). Thursday's game begins at 6:05 pm, gates open at 5:00 pm.
