Spirit Announce Details for 2022 Development Camp at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena

Saginaw, MI - The Saginaw Spirit, members of the Ontario Hockey League, are pleased to announce the schedule for their 2022 Development Camp to be held at Saginaw Bay Ice Arena in Saginaw, Michigan from Friday, May 20 through Saturday, May 21.

The Spirit will welcome 22 prospects to the Great Lakes Bay Region for the first time for two days of on ice workouts and practices, as well as a tour of the Great Lakes Bay Region provided by Blue Lakes Charters and Tours, official travel partner of the Spirit.

The three teams (Blue, White, and Red) will be made up of 12 forwards, 7 defenseman, and 3 goaltenders. The rosters will feature draft picks from the 2021 and 2022 OHL Priority Selection, the 2022 OHL U-18 Priority Selection, as well as free agent invitee Florian Xhekaj (Jack-eye) and returning players Luke McNamara, Sebastien Gervais, Olivier Savard, and Goaltender Brett Fullerton. Friday will feature two different on ice skills sessions, while Saturday will feature small-area games and a 3-on-3 tournament.

All on-ice sessions are FREE and open to the public. Saginaw Bay Ice Arena will have limited concessions available during on-ice activities on Friday & Saturday.

On-ice Camp Schedule:

Friday, May 20

9:00am-10:00am: Goalies on ice with goalie coach Rick Ice

10:00am-11:00pm: Defenseman on ice for Skills session with coaching staff

11:00pm-12:00pm: Forwards on ice for Skills session with coaching staff

3:00pm-4:00pm: PEP Skills session (Team 1)

4:00pm-5:00pm: PEP Skills session (Team 2)

5:00pm-6:00pm: PEP Skills session (Team 3)

Saturday, May 21

9:00am-10:00am: Small area games all three teams on ice

10:00am-11:00am: Goalies on ice with goalie coach Rick Ice

11:00am-12:00pm: 3 vs 3 tournament (split into three teams)
