Spikes Release 2008 Guest Appearance And Weekly Promotion Schedules

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes announced the 2008 Guest Appearance and Weekly Promotion Schedules today as the last installment of the 2008 Promotional Schedule. This year the club will feature a new list of weekly promotions in addition to their schedule of family-friendly entertainment appearances.

"This year's schedule of entertainment appearances and weekly promotions really follows in our mantra of family entertainment," said Rick Janac, Spikes' General Manager. "Every night of the week there will be something to specifically benefit and entertain families."

The guest list of entertainment acts for the 2008 season features past favorites, such as the ZOOperstars and Skyy Dogs USA & Rockin' Ray, along with new acts such as the Philly Phanatic and Curious George. A complete list of the guest appearances is listed below (in chronological order):

- Dave the Horn Guy: Friday, June 20th - 7:05 p.m. (Auburn Doubledays)

- Reggy: Thursday, July 17th - 7:05 p.m. (Tri-City ValleyCats)

- The Amazing Christopher: Monday, July 28th - 7:05 p.m. (Mahoning Valley Scrappers)

- Curious George: Wednesday, July 30th - 12:00 NOON (Mahoning Valley Scrappers)

- Skyy Dogs USA & Rockin' Ray: Wednesday, August 6th - 7:05 p.m. (Williamsport Crosscutters)

- ZOOperstars: Thursday, August 14th - 7:05 p.m. (Staten Island Yankees)

- Philly Phanatic: Thursday, August 28th - 7:05 p.m. (Mahoning Valley Scrappers)

This year, each day of the week will feature a unique weekly promotion that falls on the same weekday throughout the season. The weekly promotions will either give fans an additional deal on the already bargain prices at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park or feature additional activities and entertainment for fans. The list of weekly promotions and a brief description of what each day entails is listed below:

- Family Four-Pack - Mondays and Tuesdays: Each Monday and Tuesday throughout the Spikes' 2008 home schedule will feature a special deal for families or groups of four. For only $40 fans can receive four tickets to the Spikes' game, four hot dogs and four sodas!

- Baseball Bingo - Wednesdays: On all Wednesday home games, fans will have the opportunity to pick up free bingo cards from the Customer Service Center. Fans will have to pay close attention to the game, because whatever happens during the course of the game will determine the winners for the night.

- Thirsty Thursdays - Thursdays: Every Thursday (with the exception of opening day), fans will be able to take advantage of drink specials from the times the gates open through one hour into the game.

- Spikes Spectacular - Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: Every weekend the Spikes will feature special family-fun activities and entertainment on the concourse for an hour prior to the game. Spikes Spectacular will feature exciting acts such as magicians, jugglers, foot baggers and clowns just to name a few!

- Kids Run the Bases - Sundays: Following each Sunday home game, all children are invited to come down to the field and run the bases!

Single-game tickets for the Spikes' 2008 season will go on sale to the general public tomorrow, beginning at 9 a.m. through the Spikes Ticket Office and on-line at www.statecollegespikes.com. To mark the first day of individual ticket sales, the Spikes will hold their annual TicketPalooza event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. This free event, which will be held at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, features samples from the 2008 Spikes menu, ballpark tours, on-field games and National Anthem Tryouts for the 2008 Spikes season.
