Winston-Salem Polar Twins News Release

[WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.] – The Winston-Salem Polar Twins have some special promotions planned for upcoming games this season. In the next month, the Polar Twins will blast to the past, party with Hooters, hula it up, and auction off some of their players all in the name of hockey in the Triad.

On Thursday, February 3, five of your favorite Polar Twins players will be put up for auction live on 98.7 The Zone's morning show. The five ladies with the highest bids will receive an all expenses paid date with their chosen player on Friday, February 4 following the Twins' game at home against Huntsville. Fans should listen to 98.7 The Zone for more information on the bachelor auction, including which Twins' hotties will be up for auction.

Saturday, February 4 is Hawaiian Luau Night with the Polar Twins. The first 500 fans through the door will receive a festive lei compliments of Hitz94. In addition, fans who show up wearing a Hawaiian shirt receive $2 off the regular ticket price.

From Hawaiian night to cowboy mania, the Twins will host Country Music Night sponsored by 105.7 FM WFMX on Friday, February 18. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a free team poster. In the week prior to the game, WFMX will present a talent contest to find the next Polar Twins anthem singer. Listen to 105.7 FM WFMX to find out how you can sing the National Anthem at Country Music Night with the Polar Twins. Following the game, the Polar Twins players will make their way to Hooters at 120 Hanes Square Circle, off of Hanes Mall Boulevard in Winston-Salem. Hooters will be open until 1:00 a.m. for the post-game party with all of your favorite Polar Twins in attendance.

To cap off an exciting month of promotions and special events, the Twins will go back in time for Throwback Night on Saturday, February 19. Fans of Triad hockey can meet players of past Winston-Salem and Greensboro squads and the first 500 fans will receive a free Polar Twins retro bumper sticker compliments of Hitz 94. During the game, the Twins will be wearing jerseys fashioned after those worn by the original Polar Twins back in the 1970s. Following the game, the jerseys will be put up for sale in a live auction. Fans can bid on their favorite player's jersey and bring home a part of the action. If that wasn't enough, all tickets for Throwback Night are just $5.

The Polar Twins take on the Jacksonville Barracudas at LJVM Annex this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this and all games are available by calling the Polar Twins office at (336) 724-1011 or by visiting the LJVM Coliseum Box Office.
