
Kot named Sherwood Player of the Week

[WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.] â The Southern Professional Hockey League Player of the Week is Polar Twins forward Justin Kot. In his last four games, Kot has five goals and an assist, including a hat trick in a 3-2 overtime victory against Fayetteville last Friday. It is the first time this season a member of the Polar Twins has been selected for the weekly award, sponsored by Sherwood.
A native of Weyburn, Saskatchewan has played in nine games for the Polar Twins this season. In that span, the 6'2", 200-pound right winger has tallied 11 points (8 goals, 3 assists), an average of 1.22 points per game. He is also a +6 and has accumulated 27 penalty minutes.
Kot spent his first two years as a professional with the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League. Over two seasons, he played in 39 games for the Blazers, tallying four goals and seven assists for a total of 11 points. Prior to joining the Blazers in late 2002-03, Kot played in 47 games for the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, scoring 16 goals and contributing 38 assists in those games.
Tomorrow night the Jacksonville Barracudas make their first visit to LJVM Annex since Opening Night. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday it is a special 6:00 p.m. game time when the Asheville Aces travel to Winston-Salem.
