Nashville SC News Release

CARY, N.C. - Despite being on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline, Nashville SC's Connor Sparrow was the fan-voted Budweiser Man of the Match for Nashville against North Carolina FC on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper had a stellar night, making numerous acrobatic saves to keep Nashville within striking distance throughout the 90 minutes. It was the first loss for Sparrow in a Nashville SC uniform, having gone 3-0-3 in his previous six starts for the club.

Nashville SC GM Mike Jacobs and head coach Gary Smith signed Sparrow from Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer, where Sparrow spent the majority of the 2018 season as a backup keeper. Sparrow has allowed seven total goals in his seven starts and has two clean sheets so far this season.

Sparrow and the rest of Nashville SC will have a full week to recuperate before hitting the road again for a Saturday night match against two-time defending USL Cup champions Louisville City FC.
