Sparks team up with Privacy Wear for Breast Health Awareness Night

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sparks will host Breast Health Awareness Night, sponsored by PrivacyWear, on Tuesday, August 25th as the Sparks take on the Chicago Sky at STAPLES Center at 7:00pm.

The Sparks Breast Health Awareness Night, presented by PrivacyWear, is focused on raising funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. In honor of the league-wide breast health initiative, the entire Sparks team will adorn pink shooting shirts during warm-ups and pink and white uniforms during the game. The Sparks pre-game ball exchange program will feature breast cancer survivors as recipients with each receiving a pink basketball in the exchange.

"It is a great pleasure to share our commitment to the cure with the Sparks, the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund and Nike" said Carolyn Jones, CEO & Founder of PrivacyWear. "We look forward to supporting our community with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for breast cancer"

As Breast Health Awareness Night sponsor, PrivacyWear will present a check for $10,000 to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund to support research and funding in the battle against breast cancer. PrivacyWear will also provide some of their elite denim in the Lucky Seat giveaway and the first 5,000 fans in the doors will receive a Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund Nike t-shirt courtesy of PrivacyWear. The t-shirts, purchased at $2 apiece, represent PrivacyWear's $10,000 contribution to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.

"Coach Kay Yow was an inspiration to women's basketball players and coaches all over the world," said Kristin Bernert, Sparks Team President. "It is our privilege to partner with PrivacyWear to honor her memory and raise funds for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund."

The Sparks will also celebrate Asian-American Heritage throughout the night with performances, motivational speaking and concourse tables. The Sparks will host Jodaiko, a Taiko Drum Group for a pre-game performance and the Kaba Modern Dance Crew from UC Irvine for a halftime performance. On the STAPLES Center concourse, Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches, (A3M), will hold a bone marrow drive. Fans can stop by the table and register to become a bone marrow donor.

The Sparks will also welcome the Chinese Chamber of Commerce to STAPLES Center to enjoy the Asian-American Heritage festivities as well as the Miss Los Angeles Chinatown Court. The Asian-American Heritage Night activities will conclude with a postgame motivational speech by Brian Tom from Blind Start of America.
