Sparked By Duncan's Double - Double, Fresh Beat Takers 137 - 133

January 8, 2010 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
North Texas Fresh News Release

FORT WORTH - Jay Bowdy, Owner/CEO of the Fresh was very worried late in the second half, which was understandable, given the way the Fresh have been playing as of late.

Houston came into the game without a win and losing by 20 points or more points to each opponent, but this wasn't the case against the Fresh on Saturday. Houston led much of the game, but the 2nd chance points from A.D. Duncan was the boost needed for the Fresh.

Duncan finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds, both career highs with 7 of his rebounds being on the offensive end.

"He is a star in the making." stated Bowdy. "We're speaking of an athlete that is dangerous withand without the ball. He will flourish as the season progresses."

J.R. Duffey, a high school teammate of Duncan at North Crowley, also gave the Fresh an offensive boost with a double - double of his own with 21 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, while newly - acquired Point - Forward Ralph Hishaw chipped in 17 points while snagging down 10 rebounds as well.

At the same time, the Fresh had no answer for Ace Woods who posted 46 points for the Takers. Woods play kept Houston in reach of winning their 1st regular season game, but great composure from Titus Byrd at the free throw kept Houston at bay for the Fresh's 7th win on the year. ---** GO FRESH GO!!!!!
