LMJ: Astros RHP Lance McCullers Jr. is scheduled to make the third start of his MLB Rehab Assignment on Tuesday vs. Round Rock. He made the second start of his MLB Rehab Assignment last Wednesday in Oklahoma City. The 2017 All-Star worked three innings (52 pitches), striking out four batters. McCullers has been on the 60-Day Injured List for the entirety of the 2022 season thus far due to a right forearm strain.
REUNION: Tuesday's pitching matchup features former Astros teammates in Lance McCullers Jr. and Dallas Keuchel. Both appeared with the Astros from 2015-18 and were members of the Astros 2017 World Series Championship squad. Both were also members of the 2017 American League All-Star team. Keuchel won the 2015 American League Cy Young Award during McCullers' rookie season.
HUNDO PETE: Peter Solomon tossed five scoreless innings Saturday to pick up the winning decision. He recorded a 2.30 ERA through his five July appearances, ranking first in the Pacific Coast League. Solomon also recorded a 1.06 WHIP in July, which is third best in the PCL. Solomon on Monday was named the Space Cowboys' July Player of the Month.
