Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - Former Houston Astros rotation mates Lance McCullers Jr. and Dallas Keuchel faced off Tuesday night.

McCullers was making the third start of his MLB Rehab Assignment, working his way back from the 60-Day Injured List with the Astros, with Keuchel making his first start with Round Rock since signing a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers on July 26.

The Space Cowboys delivered a come-from-behind victory in game one of their six-game series against the Express, winning 4-3 in front of an announced 7,693 fans at Constellation Field - the largest crowd in the franchise's Triple A history.

McCullers tossed 76 pitches over 4 1/3 innings, striking out five batters. All were high-water marks thus far among his three rehab starts. He is currently on the 60-Day Injured List with a right forearm strain.

Yainer Diaz brought the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth, drawing a bases-loaded walk against Round Rock reliever Yerry Rodriguez.

The Space Cowboys knotted the game at 3-3 in the fifth. Diaz drew his first bases-loaded walk of the night and Lewis Brinson followed with a bases-loaded walk of his own. Korey Lee tied the game up after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Enoli Paredes picked up the winning decision, finishing out the game with 1 /3 scoreless innings and three strikeouts. Brett Conine tossed 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, striking out three.

Round Rock scored all three of its runs in the fourth on RBI singles from Nick Tanielu and Ryan Dorow, along with a sacrifice fly from Matt Whatley.

The Space Cowboys and Express continue their series at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, with Jonathan Bermudez scheduled to face Tyson Miller.
