Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox defeat the Nashville Sounds for the second time in a row in extra innings, winning 3-2 in 10 innings. The Sky Sox got another solid performance from starting pitcher Denny Stark. Stark pitched 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits while walking 2 and striking out 5. The Sox allowed Nashville to tie the game at 2 in the 7th and it stayed that way until the 10th when Clint Barmes hit a 0-1 pitch over the left field wall to take the lead. Barmes finished the day 2-5 as he returned to the leadoff spot for the first time in 12 games. The Sox and Sounds finish their 4 game set on Memorial Day at 1:00 with Kevin Jarvis (0-1, 6.88) taking the ball for the Sox against Dave Williams (3-1, 3.49).
