Sox Bats Stay Hot in 9-3 Win Over Nashville

The Sky Sox beat the Nashville Sounds 9-3 Friday night to take the first 2 of their 5-game series. Sox starter Chris Gissell pitched 7 great innings giving up 1 unearned run on only 5 hits while striking out 6 and walking 3. The Sox got off to a hot start scoring 6 of their 9 runs in the first 2 innings. Mark Sweeney continued his hot hitting going 4-4 with a double and 5 RBI. Luke Allen, Brent Butler, and Clint Barmes also chipped in with 3 hits apiece. The Sox and Sounds have a double header Saturday with the Sox sending Jason Young (6-6) to the mound in game 1 against the Sounds Tom Fordham (4-1). Game 2 will see Sox lefty Matt Perisho (0-0) go up against a starter who has yet to be determined for the Sounds.
