Southpaw Silences Lemurs

Laredo, TX - Grand Prairie AirHogs starting pitcher Gabriel Garcia stymied the Laredo Lemurs for a 6-0 win in the last game of a four game series Sunday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.

Gabriel Garcia went seven and two thirds, without giving up a run, on two Lemur hits, with one walk, and six strikeouts. Garcia set the Lemurs down in order four times, and retired 17 straight batters at one point.

Lemurs starter Justin Garcia took the loss in the his first appearance in the black and gold, going six, giving up four runs, on four hits, with three walks, and two strikeouts.

The AirHogs picked up a run in the first with back-to-back hits. In the fifth, Andres Rodriguez blasted his 12th home run of the season to make it 3-0 in favor of the AirHogs. They would also score one run in the sixth, with a sac fly by Brandon Pinckney to drive in a run to make it 4-0. The AirHogs tacked on two more in the ninth for the 6-0 lead.

The Lemurs have one more home stand this season. The Sioux City Explores will come to town and face the Lemurs for the first time in their existence on Tuesday, August 20th at 7:30pm at Uni-Trade Stadium.
