Florence, Kentucky: A soldout crowd of 4,483 fans came out to Champion Window Field as the Frontier League's brightest stars descended upon Florence, Kentucky for the 15th Annual Frontier League All-Star game. Despite the teams being even, the score was not. The South All-Stars which included River City, Gateway, Southern Illinois, Evansville, Chillicothe, and the host Florence, beat the North 11-3.
The Freedom's own Reggie Watson earned the Alex Gamez All-Star game MVP award, he went 3-4 with a double, two triples, three RBI, and two runs scored. Teammate Beau Blacken went 2-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Big Bobby Mosby provided the crowd with some entertainment when he pinch hit, he slammed a homerun to right field on the first pitch he saw, the only pitch he faced on the night.
The Frontier League will take Thursday off, as players and coaches travel back to their respective cities to prepare for the second half. The Freedom will head out on a six-game roadtrip, first to Marion, Illinois to play the Southern Illinois Miners, and then to Evansville to take on the Otters.
