
South Bend Cubs Challenge University of Notre Dame Baseball Team

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (April 3, 2015) - A little more than 24 hours after the South Bend Cubs arrive from spring training, they will take to the field in a 7-inning exhibition game against the University of Notre Dame baseball team. On Tuesday, April 7, the teams meet at Four Winds Field to play the game to benefit charity.
"We really like this partnership with the men's baseball program at Notre Dame," said Joe Hart, President of the South Bend Cubs. "It's a great opportunity for both teams to come together and just have fun for the community. There's a lot of respect between our organizations; we share the same values and spirit of the game."
Each team receives half of the game's proceeds to give to a charity of their choice. The Center for the Homeless is the chosen charity for the South Bend Cubs while the Fighting Irish will support the Pete Frates #3 Fund.
Gates for the game will open at 5 p.m., first pitch is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online at SouthBendCubs.com or by calling the stadium box office at 574-235-9988.
