EL SEGUNDO - The South Bay Lakers took down the Memphis Hustle by a 123-117 final tally Saturday evening at UCLA Health Training Center, improving their NBA G League regular season record to 15-10. Shaq Harrison paced South Bay in scoring with a career-high 33 points, while Adonis Arms led the way for Memphis (12-15) with 28.

The first period was defined by the hounding defense of former NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year Shaq Harrison. His three steals in the first resulted in easy buckets for the Lakers and allowed them to settle into the game early on. Harrison finished with 17 points in the first frame, the most any Laker has put up in a quarter this season. South Bay led 42-31 after one.

A 10-2 run to open the period for the Hustle saw South Bay's lead cut to just three with nine minutes remaining in the half. Seven Harry Giles III points helped South Bay regain the control they had previously established. The Lakers lead by 11 at the break, 73-62

The third period followed a similar rhythm of the first two, until the Hustle closed the quarter on a 9-1 run to take the lead, 97-96, going into the final frame. Halfway through the fourth, it was a one-point game until the Lakers put together a 13-6 run to finally give them a cushion. The Hustle responded with a run of their own to cut the lead back down to three, but South Bay held on to secure the victory, 123-117.

Harrison finished with a career-high 33 points, two rebounds, six assists, five steals and one block in 41 minutes, while Jack White added 21 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes. Two-way player Skylar Mays tallied 17 points to go along with eight boards and six assists. Jalen Hood-Schifino, on assignment from the Los Angeles Lakers, ended with 16 points, four rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block.

For the Hustle, Arms registered 28 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists, while Matt Hurt posted 27 points, brought down seven rebounds and shelled out four assists.

Up next, South Bay will play the first of a two-game series against the Westchester Knicks on Monday, March 11, at 7 p.m. PT at UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo.
