
South Bay Lakers Acquire Returning Player Rights to Quinndary Weatherspoon

EL SEGUNDO - The South Bay Lakers have acquired the returning player rights to guard Quinndary Weatherspoon from the Santa Cruz Warriors. As part of the transaction, South Bay sent a 2024 first-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick to Santa Cruz.
Weatherspoon (6'3", 205) spent the 2022-23 season with the Tianjin Pioneers of the Chinese Basketball Association, appearing in 23 games and averaging 16.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in in 21.2 minutes per game. The Mississippi native has competed in 57 career NBA G League regular season games (54 starts) for Santa Cruz (2021-22), and Austin (2019-21), posting career averages of 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds. 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals in 29.9 minutes per contest.
Additionally, the 27-year-old has appeared in 42 career NBA games for Golden State (2021-22) and San Antonio (2019-21), averaging 2.1 points in 6.5 minutes per game.
