Sounders FC Travels to Real Salt Lake for First Leagues Cup 2023 Match

SEATTLE, WASH. - Following a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas last weekend, Seattle Sounders FC takes a break from regular-season action to begin its Leagues Cup 2023 tournament run, starting with a Group Stage match against Real Salt Lake tonight at America First Field (6:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).

Leagues Cup, an unprecedented event in global soccer, is a month-long, World Cup-style tournament featuring every team from Major League Soccer and Liga MX, Mexico's top-flight men's soccer league. During a draw held earlier this year, Seattle was placed into the West 2 group alongside Real Salt Lake and CF Monterrey of Liga MX.

Seattle has already faced off against Real Salt Lake twice this year. Sounders FC defeated RSL 2-0 on March 4 at Lumen Field before drawing 0-0 with the Utah side on April 29 at America First Field.

Following the match against Real Salt Lake, Seattle will return home to face CF Monterrey on Sunday, July 30 on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field (6:00 p.m. PT / Apple TV - Watch Free, FS1, UniMás, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
