Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - After a scoreless draw with F.C. Motagua in San Pedro Sula, Honduras last Thursday, Seattle Sounders FC returns home to Lumen Field to host the Honduran side in the second leg of the Round of 16 matchup in the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League (7:30 p.m. PT / FS2, TUDN, iHeart Media, El Rey 1360 AM).
The Rave Green are looking to make history, as no MLS team has ever won a Concacaf Champions League title. The club also looks to improve upon its last showing in the tournament, a first round exit to CD Olimpia via penalty kicks in 2020.
This marks the seventh appearance for Seattle in the tournament, which crowns the best team from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Sounders FC has advanced to at least the Quaterfinals in four of its previous six appearances, including a run to the Semifinals in 2012-2013.
Following Thursday's matchup, the Rave Green kick off their MLS campaign three days later, hosting Nashville SC on Sunday, February 27 (5:00 pm. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, iHeart Media, El Rey 1360 AM).
