WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sounders FC (1-5-3, 6 points) fell 2-1 on the road to D.C. United (3-3-4, 13 points) on Saturday evening at Audi Field. After an early goal from Léo Chú gave Seattle the lead, the hosts took advantage of a Stefan Frei red card and scored a pair of strikes before halftime to secure three points for the Black-and-Red. The Rave Green remain on the road to take on the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday, April 30 at Subaru Park (4:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). Tuesday's match marks the conclusion of the Sounders-Union match originally started on March 9 that was postponed in the sixth minute due to inclement weather.

MATCH NOTES

Sounders FC sits in 13th place in the Western Conference with six points (1-5-3).

Saturday's match marked the first time these two sides have met since 2019. Seattle is now 9-4-2 all-time against D.C. United.

Léo Chú scored his first goal of the season to put Seattle up 1-0 in the 14th minute. The Brazilian winger recorded five goals and eight assists in 2023.
