Match Notes:
The Crew registered a 0-0 draw against CF Montréal in tonight's home match at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.
The Crew extended their home unbeaten streak to 18 regular season matches, the second-longest streak in club history (22 games from 2008-09).
Dating back to May 13, 2023, the Black & Gold hold an overall unbeaten streak of 27 matches (18-0-9) across all competitions at Lower.com Field.
Additionally, the Club has only lost one of its past 38 home matches in all competitions (24-1-13) since Aug. 6, 2022.
Columbus is unbeaten through their first six home matches (3-0-3) of the 2024 season.
It marks only the fifth time the Club has accomplished the feat (2009, 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2204).
The Crew's longest unbeaten streaks at home to start a season:
13 matches in 2009.
Seven (7) matches in 2011, 2020 and 2021.
Six (6) matches in 2024* - *active streak.
Midfielder Aidan Morris started as Crew captain for the first time in his career.
Morris recorded a full 90 minutes played, 101 accurate passes (94 percent passing accuracy), four shots (one shot on target), three tackles won, five ground duels won, and two aerial duels won.
With tonight's result, goalkeeper Patrick Schulte recorded his third shutout of the season and 10th career MLS clean sheet.
Schulte recorded two saves, 22 accurate passes (85 percent passing accuracy), six accurate long balls and 32 touches.
Entering the match at the 74th minute, Forward Christian Ramirez made his first appearance since sustaining an injury against Charlotte FC (March 23).
Ramirez recorded 16 minutes, six accurate passes (86 percent passing accuracy), seven touches and one pass into the final third.
Today's attendance of 20,927 marked the 23rd consecutive MLS sellout at Lower.com Field and the record highest attendance at the venue.
The Crew face CF Monterrey in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinals at Estadio BBVA on Wednesday, May 1 at 10:15 p.m. ET. Based on Wednesday's 2-1 result at Lower.com Field, the Club can advance to the Concacaf Championship Cup Final for the first time in franchise history with:
A Crew win or tie by any scoreline.
A one-goal loss in which the Crew score at least two goals (e.g., 3-2, 4-3, etc.)
In the event the match is a 2-1 win in favor of CF Monterrey at the end of regulation, the contest will proceed to extra time and potentially penalty kicks.
If Monterrey wins 1-0 or by two or more goals, Rayados advance to the Final.
