SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC begins its quest for a fifth Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title Wednesday evening in the Third Round against San Diego Loyal SC at Starfire Stadium (7:00 p.m. PT / Bleacher Report App & YouTube, El Rey 1360 AM).

Four-time U.S. Open Cup champion Seattle has displayed dominance in the tournament since joining MLS in 2009. With four championships, Sounders FC is tied with Chicago Fire and Sporting Kansas City for the most among MLS clubs. From 2009-2011, the Rave Green became the first club since 1968 to win three straight tournament titles before adding a fourth in 2014. In its four championship runs, the Rave Green beat D.C. United on the road in the 2009 final, ousted Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire at Lumen Field in 2010 and 2011, respectively, then won the 2014 tournament with a 3-1 extra time road win over the Philadelphia Union 3-1 at Subaru Park.

Sounders FC announced the signing of four Tacoma Defiance players to short-term agreements ahead of tonight's match. Defiance players Cody Baker, Paul Rothrock, Travian Sousa and Hal Uderitz are all eligible for selection by Sounders FC Head Coach Brian Schmetzer for this evening's match. MLS clubs may sign players from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate to short-term agreements (up to four-day contracts) for CONCACAF Champions League, AMWAY Canadian Championship, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and exhibition matches.

Sounders FC returns to MLS action when it travels to Real Salt Lake on Saturday, April 29 (6:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
